Love this one based on Superman #276. I had to pull out my issue and take a look. This must have been right before Shazam got his own series at DC as they would have probably used Captain Marvel for this book instead of going with the name Captain Thunder. Instead of Billie Batson it's Willie Fawcett. Of course Fawcett originally published the Captain Marvel comics in the 40's before DC sued them complaining Marvel was too much like Superman. Instead of Shazam Willie yells, "Thunder". Instead of the old wizard Shazam, Willie is given powers by Merokee last of the great medicine men of the Mohegan tribe. It's a pretty cool origin in it's own right, knock off or not. Captain Thunder is given the seven spiritual powers, tornado - power, hare - speed, Uncas - bravery (said to be a warrior chief of the Mohegan tribe), nature - wisdom, diamond - toughness, eagle - flight, and ram - tenacity. Of course Captain Thunder ends up fighting Superman before he returns to his alternate earth. They don't make fun comics like that anymore.
